I'm no good at writing about myself so I asked Mr Neil Porter to write a little something for me.

"With a Journeyman style, commitment to work and a creative eye envied by many in the industry Ian, although only been in the industry for a few years, has become an accomplished photographer. Versatile, reliable, always looking for a challenge.

Ian's commitment to the job and willingness to work hard and see the task through to the final step is what is establishing him as one of the fast risers and has lead him already to success and accolades. A brief look at his folio would show the range and styles Ian has worked with, all of them at an acceptable level anywhere in the world.

Ian, level headed enough to know to not let ones work consume his entire life has enjoyed success in other pursuits.  A short conversation with  him will reveal a passion for cricket, Australia, mateship, basketball and a quiet drink.  As can be seen in his photography, Ian follows through with all pursuits, willingly going out of his way to understand what is happening whether it is the Australian cricket team or a friend's new job.

Along with photographic success Ian has experienced success as a basketball referee. Having held a whistle for seven years now, he has always looked to climb the ranks of refereeing like everything he does. Not willing to just put in the "minimal required" amount of effort like many others Ian is in a pursuit of excellence.  The hours of work have yielded results and Ian now holds a place on the Big V panel and recently took on the Division 2 Men's Grand Final.

Looking to the future one can only speculate where Ian's world will take him. For someone with such commitment and natural talent in many ways it is up to only him where he will be in 5 years time. An exciting productive photographic career already producing images that anyone would be willing to commission. A Basketball referee who is still young but already displaying the talent, composure and skill to go much further and a mate to the end."
